· Movable exhaust extraction for single vehicles

The exhaust extraction system ensures that the incidental exhaust gases are extracted at 100 % and at the same time provides perfect operational safety when the exhaust gas hoses are detached from the vehicle. The suction nozzle is attached to the vehicle by means of an electromagnet on an anchor plate. Hereby it is guaranteed that the vertical extraction hose stays closely connected to the vehicle and the operating personnel will neither be hindered in their work nor endangered.

For this system a generous tube diameter of DN 125 or DN 150 can be chosen, in order to extract not only exhaust gas but also ambient air. This lowers the temperature and thus helps extending the life span of the hoses.

Nearly all exhaust tailpipes can be covered and exhausted due to the exchangeability and flexibility of the suction nozzle. The vehicle will not be damaged, because the exhaust gas nozzle is connected to the exhaust pipe neither friction-locked nor form-fit.

Control system

Listed below you find different control systems for the ventilation fan:

• with motor circuit switch only
• alert control via switch box with overshoot
• control via palm switch and switch box with overshoot
• control via door contact and switch box with overshoot
• radio control via switch box and overshoot

Assemblage

We will gladly carry out the installation. We have our own installation teams with fully equipped service cars.

Testing and maintenance

When assembled by EXA you will receive a test log book after the installation, verifying data on the measured volume flows of each extraction point. We also carry out maintenance for the annually required inspection of the installed system.

 

 

· Movable system - Suction rail

Complete vehicle exhaust extraction system with permanent pitch for an individual driving distance of approx. 4 to 12 m. This system includes:

• Suction rail made from extruded aluminium type I
• Trolley with ultraflexible exhaust gas hose,
• Spring balancer (optional),
• Electromagnet as detachment device
• Anchor plate for fastening to the vehicle
• Suction nozzle

The suction nozzle is not locked to the exhaust, but is led directly to the pipe by means of electromagnet and hose.

Easy and reliable

When the vehicle passes the hall entrance, the circuit to the electromagnet will be disconnected by a limit switch at the rail’s end and the suction nozzle will be detached from the exhaust gas pipe. Next, the balancer steadily pulls upwards hose and suction nozzle. When the vehicle is backing into the bay, the hose will be fastened via electromagnet to the anchor plate which is affixed to the vehicle’s outer side.

This makes it easy to fix the electromagnet and to attach the exhaust nozzle to the vehicle.
The automatic detachment via limit switch takes place just ahead of the rail’s end. The detachment is individually adjustable.
For a standard rail length of 6 metres two suspension devices are required.

By means of a suction rail it is possible to exhaust two vehicles standing one behind the other.

 

· Movable system - Slide rail

Exhaust extraction system for fire-fighting vehicles as a movable system with slide rail. The distance is approx. 6 to 9 m per track. This system consists basically of the following components:

• Slide rail, multi-part with
• centred pipe connection
• Ball-bearing mounted trolley
• Vertical exhaust hose
• Spring balancer
• Electromagnet as detachment device
• Anchor plate for fastening to the vehicle
• Suction nozzle

The rail is a C-profile 35 × 40 mm, open at the underside, made of galvanized steel with damped end stops at the rails’ ends. The profile offers a variety of fastening options.

Railsliding carriage (double pair of rollers) with ball joint, spring balancer for exhaust gas hose, thereby torsion-free hose routing on the vehicle. Exhaust gas hose 200 °C temperature-resistant, coated steel spiral. Hose length at least 6 meters. Suction nozzle with electromagnet and handle for set-down on the anchor plate in the vehicle, incl. switch for manual detachment. Easy attaching of electromagnet and positioning of the suction nozzle to the vehicle. Automatic detachment via limit switch takes place just ahead of the rail’s end. Detachment individually adjustable.
For a standard rail length of 6 meters three suspension devices are required.

• Optional: horizontal hose, sliding rail guided

The compact systems for up to three emergency vehicles are delivered completely with exhaust ventilation fan, motor circuit switch, wall panel and accessory, exhaust gas hoses, stand funnel and accessory.

• Automatic hose detachment from the exhaust via Bowden cable, including balancer for removal of the hose from the danger zone after being detached (stand funnel not required).
